Shipping and Packaging
A wide variety of shipping options make it a snap to do business with clients outside
of our area. All shipping costs are paid by the client and we provide estimates
up front. Here are our shipping guidelines and policies.
Shipping To Us
In general, we recommend using FedEx or UPS because in our experience they have
proven to be reliable, handle items with more care, and offer tracking on all shipments.
They both have a wide variety of shipping options and pricing.
Sending Artwork: If you would like to ship your original to us worry-free,
we recommend Masterpak or
Airfloat for shipping containers engineered for shipping artwork. Most painters
who enter competitions rely upon these boxes to safely ship their work. Shipping
costs will be considerably higher than for artwork that can be shipped in a tube.
If the original can be unframed, please do so. We can scan the original with the
frame but removing it will lessen the chance of damage and reduce the shipping costs.
If the original can be rolled, we recommend using a sturdy mailing tube for added
safety and cost savings. Use a 4-6 inch diameter tube to minimize curling. Always
make sure that the surface of delicate artwork is carefully protected to prevent
scuff damage. When rolling artwork, protect the image side with a sheet of non abrasive
material. Your artwork will be handled with skill and care and be returned to you
in your original packing carton.
Sending Film: Please send film in a stiff reinforced envelope and include
any information you have regarding the film type. We can handle any kind of film
up to 8"x10" in size.
Shipping To You
The client is responsible for all shipping costs including sending proofs. All shipping
charges will be automatically added to your order if paying by credit card. If you
are paying by check or money order, just contact us for an estimate on shipping
costs. We don't have any mark-up on our shipping costs. We take the cost to us plus
a $5.00 charge for handling and packaging materials and that is your shipping cost.
Sending Your Prints: After inspecting your prints thoroughly, we package
them carefully using archival packing materials to protect your print. Whenever
possible, we use very sturdy mailing tubes because of the added protection. We use
extra large diameter tubes when mailing prints on heavier fine art papers to minimize
curl. They will flatten out beautifully. Small prints prints and of course, all
stretched canvas prints are shipped flat in boxes. If you require that your prints
be shipped flat, please let us know.
Returning Artwork: If at all possible, we return you artwork in your original
packing carton. If that is not possible, we will construct new packaging at an additional
cost.
Returning Film: We sandwich your originals between two pieces of thick cardboard
and any CDs are attached to the cardboard sandwich with rubber bands. Small scan
orders are shipped in a FedEx envelope. Larger orders are wrapped in bubble wrap
and slipped into a FedEx box.
Custom Packaging: Print shipments or art returns that require special custom
packaging will have a higher handling charge. This fee is charged in addition
to the cost of shipping your prints to you.
Insurance: Our default policy is to ship your package without any special
insurance. If you would like us to insure your package for a certain amount (such
as the amount of your invoice), please let us know when you place your order.
Drop Shipping
We offer drop shipping service for clients that would like us to print and ship
prints directly to the art purchaser. This service can really streamline your process
of fullfilling print orders. The cost for this service is determined based on the
clients requirements.
FedEx Shipping
We use FedEx Second day as our default for shipping. We can ship prints overnight,
or by using FedEx Ground if you request it. We will either bill your FedEx account,
or we will charge you the published FedEx rate for your ZIP code and the package
weight.
FedEx Ground
FedEx Ground is the least expensive way to ship prints and scans. FedEx Ground can
take anywhere from a day (in California) to a week (to the East Coast) rates range
from $4 on up, depending on your ZIP code and the package weight. If you would like
to ship using FedEx Ground, please write this on your order form. Please note that
if we ship via FedEx Ground, FedEx does not require a signature to deliver
your package. If you live in an urban area and don't want your prints left on your
doorstep, you may want to upgrade to FedEx Express Saver or FedEx 2nd Day Service.
With these services, couriers must get a signature upon delivery.
International Shipments
We can ship to other countries. Since each country has different postal regulations,
please tell us if we should ship using FedEx, UPS or the USPS. Please also give
us instructions on how to fill out the carriage value forms, and any other information
we need for customs.
