Our Printer
We provide large format Giclée printing use the lastest generation Epson Stylus
Pro 9800 with UltraChrome K3 inks. The Epson 9800 can produce prints
on a variety of papers and canvas at sizes up to 44" inches wide by 72 inches or
more in length.
The Epson 9800 is extremely well regarded for it's ability to produce exceptional
color and black-and-white fine art Giclées. Variable-sized droplets of ink as small
as 3.5 picoliters are used to optimize photographic quality. Perhaps the most desirable
attributes of the Epson print engines are the color consistency, gamut, and rich
detail.
Archival Prints
One important element that distinguishes Giclées from other print methods is the
attention to archival materials and practices. To deliver beautiful archival prints
we have standardized on the following:
- 8-color UltraChrome K3 Ink Technology: All new high-density pigments
for an extremely wide color gamut and improved scratch resistance. Improved longevity
in excess of 75 years or more.
- New Three-level Black Ink Technology: A three black system significantly
improves the printer's gray balance while eliminating color casts. The midtones
and highlights have a smoother tonal range. Metamerism and bronzing have been virtually
eliminated.
- Premium Archival Media: We use only the finest acid-free 100% cotton
and cellulose fine art papers and canvas.
- Protective Coatings: Our liquid laminates provide additional ultraviolet
and scuff protection to our prints.
For years inkjet printers fell short when it came to the longevity of their prints.
Artists and photographers were intrigued about the possibilities of Giclée printing
but the excitement faded when it became apparent that the dye inks would fade in
a few years and the pigment inks lacked brilliance and color gamut. But times have
changed...
Archival pigment inks like UltraChrome K3 from Epson have changed the Giclée industry
by combining the best of both worlds. Achieving both an intense color gamut and
the longevity of pigments, UltraChrome K3 inks combined with new archival fine art
papers produce stunning prints that will last for generations.
