Finishing Services
We offer a variety of finishing services that add value, beauty, and protection
to your prints.
Canvas Stretching
Staple-Free Edges: A high quality stretcher will use staples to techniques
offer the artist the ability to display the canvas beautifully without the need
for a frame, thereby reducing unnecessary expense. Also, it gives the artist the
ability to paint on-and-around the edge adding artistic dimension to the finished
piece. All our canvas prints have a 2" border to allow for stretching.
Standard Profile: We use high quality 3/4 inch thick solid wood stretcher
bars and wrap the canvas so the edges are staple-free. If you are planning on framing
the print, this is thickness to use.
Gallery Profile: The gallery profile gives your canvas the thicker profile
typically seen in frameless gallery installations. We use a high quality 1 1/4"
stretcher that is ideal for prints with finished edges.
Edge Finishing
For either standard or gallery profiles, you can select from a variety of edge treatments.
This makes for a gorgeous presentation and you don't have to do any work other than
hang it!
- Bare Canvas: The edge is left as natural bare canvas
- Solid Color: This can be a standard color or a color chosen from the print
- Image Wrap: The image is enlarged so it is wider and taller than the stretcher and
wraps around the sides. The finished size of the piece remains the same.
- Image Extension: This is a custom option that uses digital editing to extend the
image around the sides without changing the finished size or the front display of
the print.
Protective Coating
Coating a print with a Giclée varnish provides UV protection, waterproofing, and
added richness and depth to the colors. We spray coat all our canvas prints
and offer a choice of matte, satin or glossy finishes.
Deckled Edges
A deckle edge can add a beautiful finishing touch to your print. We use a special
technique to hand tear the edges of your print to create an edge with the character
of mould-made rag paper. Prints with deckled edges can be floated instead of matting
the print.
Certificate of Authenticity
A certificate, hand embossed with the Aris Editions seal of approval, authenticates
your print. This can be a great marketing tool for artists, as it assures buyers
that they are purchasing a limited edition, high quality giclée print. The certificate
contains information on the artist, the original work of art, and the print itself.
